President of the Independent Colleges and Universities of Florida, formerly a partner with Sachs Sax Caplan, expert in education, aviation and administrative law, and a business law professor.
Bob Boyd serves as president for the 30 Independent Colleges and Universities of Florida, and was formerly its general counsel with the statewide law firm Sachs Sax Caplan. He’s also a business law professor with Flagler College.
Bob is highly skilled at helping prepare students for 21st-century work and citizenship, in addition to his government affairs knowledge in the education, aviation and administrative law arenas. He served as attorney for one of Florida’s first charter schools approved by the Florida Legislature, and was attorney in the first ever successful charter school appeals before the Florida Cabinet
He was appointed by Governor Jeb Bush to the U.S. Office of Civil Rights Partnership Team with Florida on Minority Higher Education. He was also appointed by the Secretary of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to the Technical Advisory Committee for Florida’s Underground Storage Tank Program, and by the Secretary of the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles to the Citizens Motorcycle Safety Council.
He is AV Rated by Martindale-Hubbell, and graduated with honors from the Florida State University College of Law. He received his undergraduate degree, Cum Laude, from Rollins College.
